Who we are
The Cameroonian Organisation of Emerging Peasants (ORCAPE) is a structure dedicated to rural development and to the empowerment of peasant communities in Cameroon. Its motto: “Social equity for all”.
Our mission
ORCAPE provides guidance, structure and support to rural stakeholders in order to fight poverty (SDG 1) and promote decent employment (SDG 8).
Its purpose is to guide, structure and support rural stakeholders in protecting their rights and interests, and in promoting the local development of the agro-pastoral value chain.
Our areas of intervention
- agriculture;
- livestock farming;
- environmental protection;
- education;
- water and sanitation;
- health.
Our flagship project
PROTRAMAP (Peasant Mass Transformation Project) organises village families into “peasant atoms” in order to facilitate their access to resources and markets. Learn more on the dedicated PROTRAMAP page.
Legal recognition
ORCAPE is a non-governmental organisation recognised by order No. 000008/A/MINAT/SG/DAP/SDLP/SONG/BA of 13 January 2026 of the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MINAT).
